Laser survey equipment is making a fast track into construction or building surveys. This process is much more technologically advanced than any other type of survey used for construction. There are many types of laser equipment such as the laser level, single or dual grade laser, rotating and straight line lasers, pipe lasers and finally laser receivers.
Laser levels are becoming more and more common in construction surveys today. It is important to choose the right laser level for the job. There is a wide variety of them to choose from so take it is important to take the time to research each one. The most important aspect in any laser level is to make sure that it will automatically level without the user doing anything.
It can be time consuming if a level has to be set manually. One needs to have a steady hand and eye. By having laser leveling, there is no room for human error. It is also more time effective. In engineering surveying this time that is saved can result into a lot of money.
The single or dual grade laser survey equipment can detect the slight grade in a hill or incline. The difference between the two is very simple. The single grade laser measurement equipment will only be able to detect the incline on one level. When the dual type is used, two different levels can be calculated at once.
A rotating laser can emit a laser that has the capabilities of moving in a full circle. This means that the land surveyors can stand in the middle of a section of property and can get a result in a full three hundred and sixty degrees. A straight line laser is one that can determine straight lines.
Pipe lasers are most commonly used by city municipalities to determine the best placement for underground pipes and other types of piping. This type of laser survey equipment helps to align the pipes so that they are level and will have the most strength in the connection. This would be guesswork without these lasers' accuracy.
Finally we come to the laser receiver. This is used in conjunction with the laser level in some instances. A laser receiver will allow for more coverage of the land survey. Many of the laser levels require darkness to work. This type can be used in full daylight. It simply reads the laser track that is sent by the level and accommodates until the pitch is perfect. The user will know when this level has been reached by a tone that will be heard.
Laser survey equipment has made leaps and bounds when it comes to doing surveys. This technology is advances more and more each day. Many of these items are compact and easy to carry around. The days of bulky surveying tools are nearly gone. While many are still used in every day surveys, the switch to more modern and practical equipment is becoming the norm.
