Google Web Page SEO - Secrets of Listing on Google's First Page

Every business owner I consult with views a Google first page listing as the holy grail of online business marketing.

It's rare to discuss any business growth strategies without someone complaining they can't get their products & services on the first page on Google.

Google web page SEO secrets of listing on Google first page outlines strategies for the first page of Google. This Google website page first technology placement is achievable.

I consult for several different business across 42 different countries and I have noticed a definitive shift in conventional business marketing during the last three years.

Business owners are becoming more comfortable with internet business and e-commerce trading. I have noticed a sharp increase in the number of conventional businesses making the transition to an online presence.

And why not. E-commerce offers all businesses a tremendous opportunity for exponential business growth by tapping into additional complimentary revenue streams that they could not access in a conventional business.

One should think of search engines as contemporary dinosaurs, i.e. huge monsters who dominate the world of online marketing. In reality Google is the biggest meanest search engine in the land. This is why business owners and marketing specialists are keen to achieve a Google first page listing.

Google Web Page SEO Secrets Of Listing On Google First Page # 1 Natural Organic Listing

A first page of Google on the left side of the Google website page, is what is referred to as natural or organic listing.

Whenever customers search for a product or service on the Google submit page and land on the Google results page they are 4 to 6 times more likely to buy from a search engine organic listing than from a sponsored link or Pay Per Click listing.

In relation to first technology, the first page on Google is king. Some business consultants refer to this concept as pages Google.

Google Web Page SEO Secrets Of Listing On Google First Page # 2 Pay Per Click PPC

One of the quickest ways to get on the first page of Google is to invest in a pay per click marketing campaign to run on the Google website page.

In no time at all you can rise up the first page on Google by simply paying more than your competitors.

One of the best kept SEO secrets is that a new business can place higher on the PPC Google results page than a huge competitor who has been trading for many years. From a first technology perspective PPC advertising on the Google submit page offers many added value benefits for your online marketing campaign.

Google Web Page SEO Secrets Of Listing On Google First Page # 3 Search Engine Optimisation SEO

SEO on the Google website page is one of the best kept SEO secrets. Unfortunately many online marketing companies exploit what is known as first technology.

By this I mean many SEO specialists prefer to baffle conventional business owners with first technology black art terminology.

Some SEO marketing companies deliberately mislead non techie business owners by informing them they need a lead time of anything from 9 to 18 months to achieve a natural first page of google listing for your products or services.

In reality if you know a trust worthy SEO specialist he or she can get you a natural organic SEO listing on the first page on Google in a week and sometimes less.

Google Web Page SEO Secrets Of Listing On Google First Page # 4 Top 5 Listing

When business customers search via the Google submit page a top five listing on the Google results page demonstrates a sense of confidence in online buyers.

This is known in first technology parlance as positioning 'above the scroll on pages Google.' I am of course referring to a top 5 listing on the first page of Google for natural organic searches.

Google Web Page SEO Secrets Of Listing On Google First Page # 5 SEO Page Domination

If as already discussed, we know that online buyers are 4 to 6 times more likely to purchase products and services from a natural organic first page on Google. And we know that customers have more confidence in companies placing in natural search engine placement then it makes good business sense to try and dominate the organic rankings.

The very best way to dominate the search engine rankings is to employ the services of a professional business writer who is trained and skilled at writing proven successful articles about business products and/or services which have proven successful at dominating the search engine natural organic listings.

Online SEO business writers agree that any article which places 3 times in the top 10 positions on any search engine search page dominates the SEO page.

If this writer can gain high placement on pages Google then it is likely he or she will achieve similar high placement and domination on the other main search engines.

To view how a professional article can achieve SEO page domination cut and paste the following article title; Serious Organised Crime - Financial Scam By The British American Security Expert into Google MSN Bing, Yahoo, Ask or AOL and look at how many times the same article features on the first 3 pages of each search engine page.

As a matter of interest, when I just checked it out for myself, the same article actually placed in the 1st 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12, 13th,14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, & 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 28th, 29th & 30th, place on page 1 to 3.

I think any SEO specialist would consider this as true SEO page domination. It is worth mentioning that very, very few SEO marketing companies can achieve true SEO page domination despite the fact that most will tell you they can.

It's a highly specialized marketing skill. Now if one places themselves in the mind-set of a prospective customer looking to buy products or services from the British American Security Expert for example, then he or she can only be seriously impressed at this SEO page domination.

It is worth mentioning that I am only advocating an ethical and legitimate method of dominating the organic rankings by virtue of specialized article writing and submission designed to appear multiple times on the Google results page.

Some SEO companies try to circumvent the search engine rankings by implementing unethical processes known in the SEO business as Black Hat techniques. Attempting to implement any Black Hat techniques will result all of the main search engines black listing your business.

It is exceptionally difficult to get your online business back on track once the search engines have black listed you.

Google’s Got Logos, But Bing’s Home Page Images Attract Too

Fast Company has a fascinating article on Bing’s background images and how they are used to market the Bing service. While Google updates their logos to be fun and creative on special birthdays or occasions, Bing revamps their background with an image that stands out and leaves users asking for more.

If you haven’t noticed, Bing updates their home page background graphic daily (sometimes more often), with images and photography that are real eye catchers. They even add interactivity behind the background graphic by adding hotspots to the image, which lead to useful search queries.

Stephanie Horstmanshof, managing editor of Bing and the so-called “queen of the homepage” told Fast Company, “we thought it was a way to differentiate–to make things come alive and more approachable.”

How does Bing select which photo they want on their home page? Bing has a meeting every few weeks with a group of decision makers who review tons of user submitted photos and other photography and then pick the best to show on their home page. They don’t just look for pretty and interesting photos, they look for images that “makes you want to find out more about it,” said Horstmanshof.

After the photos are selected, a Bing writer adds the hotspots over the images and the background is scheduled in. The hotspots, along with the image, purpose is to drive more queries and show off Bing’s search capabilities.

The key here is to bring searchers back daily to use Bing more and more. I should note that Bing had the backgrounds and hotspots well before Bing was even a brand. Microsoft launched these background and hotspots under the “Live Search” brand, which failed to help Microsoft capture much market share. Bing, on the other hand, has been successful in increasing market share over the years.

Study: Insurance, Loan-Related Keywords Are Google’s Cash Cows

Jul 18, 2011 at 4:54pm ET by

Insurance-related keywords are the source of 24% of Google’s AdWords revenue, with the highest CPC coming in at a whopping $54.91, according to a study by search marketing company WordStream. The company used its own keyword database and the Google Keyword Tool to come up with the top 10,000 most expensive English-language keywords over a 90-day period.

Examples of key phrases in the Insurance category included “buy car insurance online” and “auto insurance price quotes.”

Next in line came the Loans category, commanding 12.8% of revenue with CPCs as high as $44.28. Typical keywords in Loans include “consolidate graduate student loans,” and “fixed home equity loan rates.” Third was the “Mortgage” category, which, one supposes, could have been put together with Loans. As its own category, Mortgages represented 9% of revenue, with the highest CPM coming in at $47.12.

Rounding out the top 10 categories, in order of percentage of revenue represented, include Attorney, Credit, Lawyer, Donate, Degree, Hosting and Claim. Again, Attorney and Lawyer could be argued to be a single category, but WordStream broke them into two separate buckets.

Clearly, the categories representing the highest revenue potential for Google — with both high CPCs and high volume — are those with large potential customer bases wiling to pay the most to acquire a customer. These are advertisers for whom acquiring a customer represents a substantial reward, either because it is an expensive purchase or because the customer has a high lifetime value.

Here’s the full top 20 with the highest search volume and CPC, via WordStream:

Insurance (example keywords in this category include “buy car insurance online” and “auto insurance price quotes”)Loans (example keywords include “consolidate graduate student loans” and “cheapest homeowner loans”)Mortgage (example keywords include “refinanced second mortgages” and “remortgage with bad credit”)Attorney (example keywords include “personal injury attorney” and “dui defense attorney”)Credit (example keywords include “home equity line of credit” and “bad credit home buyer”)Lawyer (“personal injury lawyer,” “criminal defense lawyer)Donate (“car donation centers,” “donating a used car”)Degree (“criminal justice degrees online,” “psychology bachelors degree online”)Hosting (“hosting ms exchange,” “managed web hosting solution”)Claim (“personal injury claim,” “accident claims no win no fee”)Conference Call (“best conference call service,” “conference calls toll free”)Trading (“cheap online trading,” “stock trades online”)Software (“crm software programs,” “help desk software cheap”)Recovery (“raid server data recovery,” “hard drive recovery laptop”)Transfer (“zero apr balance transfer,” “credit card balance transfer zero interest”)Gas/Electricity (“business electricity price comparison,” “switch gas and electricity suppliers”)Classes (“criminal justice online classes,” “online classes business administration”)Rehab (“alcohol rehab centers,” “crack rehab centers”)Treatment (“mesothelioma treatment options,” “drug treatment centers”)Cord Blood (“cordblood bank,” “store umbilical cord blood”)

Here’s WordStream’s infographic summarizing its data: Where Does Google Make Its Money? [ infographic ]

Hot At Sphinn: Google’s Chances For Social Success, SEO ‘Junk’ On The Web & More

Jul 5, 2011 at 2:34pm ET by Matt McGee

sphinn-logoThere was quite a variety of content making the rounds last week on our sister site, Sphinn, and this week’s recap reflects that.

Hot on the heels of the launch of Google+, our “Discussion of the Week” asked a simple question: Can Google Succeed at Social Networking? The general feeling among the commenters was not to completely discount Google’s chances to succeed in social, but Sphinn member bluephoenixnyc summed up the challenge in our favorite comment of the week:

A great comment making the waves around Twitter was this: Google is fundamentally a utility. Nobody wants to hang out at the electricity company. So the question is will Google be able to build the type of bar/lounge situation for its utility company aesthetic that would entice users? The problem with Buzz and Wave fundamentally was that both were a bit too convoluted for even the early adopters; if you can’t hook the early adopters, then the product doesn’t stand a chance.

What’s your opinion? Feel free to add your thoughts today.

Meanwhile, also popular last week was an article in which one online marketer declares his intention to “stoop adding junk” to the web — and by “junk” he means low-quality websites, low-quality links, etc. That story was the most retreated Sphinn article on Twitter last week.

Here’s a look at all of last week’s activity.

Discussion: Can Google Succeed at Social Networking? – Google has been playing catch up in the social networking space for a while now. Google+ is its latest attempt to offer a compelling social product that complements Google search, Gmail and the many other products/services it offers. Although only a few people currently have access to Google+, let's talk about the bigger picture. In our "Discussion of the Week," we want to know: Can Google succeed at social networking? Is it in their DNA? What results will be needed for people to consider Google+ a success? The floor is open – feel free to take this where you want, lots of different angles we can go.The Benefits Of C Class IP Hosting – As usual, the new age SEO mystics like to say that anything that seems “exploitive” is useless and a waste of money. For this reason a common myth has circulated within the SEO industry that C class hosting is useless. Strangely, the people who say this mostly don’t even know what C class hosting is used for.Highlighting content creators in search results – Following through on rel=author, certain results will now display an author’s picture and name next to their content on Google Search results.A Tale of 2 Google Places Algorithms – Organic vs Places Ranking Factors Revealed – Great piece from Linda Buquet that opens a series of articles looking at the different local ranking factors between the old 7-pack style results and the blended results that debuted last October.30 Things to Do If You Want Your Company Blog to Fail – Everyone struggles to maintain a great blog, but what if you've decided it's your goal to create a phenomenally awful company blog? Well, here are 30 things you can do to fast-track your trip to the bottom! Why I Intend to Stop Adding Junk to the Web – A reformed affiliate offers some smart insight into the world of spammy SEO, churn and burn websites, and why most affiliates shouldn't quit their day job in pursuit of the 4 Hour Workweek.Google+: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly – When I first logged into Google+ I was a bit underwhelmed, but the more I used and explored the site, the more I liked it.  While it has already been deemed Google’s Facebook competitor, it is quite  different.   I want to share my opinion on the pros and cons of the site to help shine a little light on what exactly Google+ is, and what it does (and doesn’t) do well.whatCategorise Your Inbound Link Profile With Open Site Explorer Data – No 101-level content here. Richard Baxter shares a pretty high-level process for categorizing and analyzing the links in a website's inbound link profile. Bonus: He includes a downloadable Excel spreadsheet to help you get started.Your Web Metrics: Super Lame or Super Awesome? – Are you reporting crappy web metrics? Avinash explains which ones are lame and provides you with the information you need to report on metrics that truly matter.Personas 101: What Are They and Why Should I Care? – Solid introduction to personas from Linda Bustos: "A persona is not a demographic profile, a market segment or a summation of survey data. Rather, a persona is a combination of data modeled from ethnographic and behavioral user research, as well as narrative."

This is the latest in a weekly look at the stories that were “hot” on Sphinn in the past week. We’ll post these recaps every week.
